The Bond is Birmingham’s newest wedding destination. Skilfully reimagined from a landmark industrial building in downtown Digbeth, every nook and cranny has a fascinating history. Set against the backdrop of the Grand Union canal, this is the place for grand unions.
We felt there was the perfect balance of making everything feel so special but also relaxed and friendly. The organisation, decor, food and service was perfect and we couldn’t have asked for more.
Recently rediscovered and redeveloped, in the 19th century it was the beating heart of the city’s industry. The contrast of Victorian industrial heritage with modern Digbeth’s urban- cool street art, hipster restaurants and indie bars is simply irresistible.
The Bond fits right into this vibe, with its iconic red-brick vernacular and arresting architectural features. The building has had many incarnations since it was first built — it’s been a gas works, an ice factory and later still, it was a warehouse for the bacon butty’s best friend, HP Sauce.
Today, The Bond has been carefully and imaginatively transformed into Digbeth’s most ravishing wedding venue.
We’re spoiling you. But why not? After all, it’s your wedding day. Our canal-side oasis offers a tranquil green space in the heart of Digbeth. With a less is more philosophy, the design is a simple palette of exposed brick, steel and glass, with glazed screens inviting light to flow in through the space.
We are fully licensed for civil wedding ceremonies at the Gatehouse, which can seat up to 160 guests. It’s a contemporary, airy space and overlooking its own private wharf. If you really want to make a splash, you could even arrive by boat.
Once you’re legally wed, you and your guests can move outside (weather permitting) or into The Canopy for a Champagne reception and canapés. The Canopy is our largest event space, tastefully surrounded by glass, with striking views of the River Rea and the canal.
the venue was dressed beyond our wildest dreams. On the day everything in exactly the place we wanted, the room was beautiful and the staff literally could not do enough.
Our catering team are good to go, with all the ingredients to serve up a five-star dining experience for you and your guests. We offer a mouth-watering choice of set menus, featuring locally sourced produce. From a lavish feast, to dainty canapés, your wish is our commis chef. Give us the nod and we’ll get planning and prepping. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know in advance and we’ll do all we can to meet them.
When the last forkful’s been eaten, it’s time to get on the dancefloor. We have plenty of space for live bands or DJ sets, so dust off your best James Brown moves and hipshake the night away.
The Bond is licensed to serve alcohol until midnight.
